Final Decision

I played my best golf yet the last few days before cuts.  I was making all my putts, and hitting it deep and right down the middle of the fairway.  As you know, coach cut 5 players, leaving 8 on the team.  I could tell my teammates were pulling for me when the coach called me into his office.  He had all my scores on a fancy spreadsheet, and we talked about what happened. I told him about the bad slump I've been in for ages.  He commended me on my effort, the last few days especially, but said he had to let me go.  I can't really say I didn't see it coming, because I did, but it still kind of shocked me to hear it come out of his mouth.  Initially, I was upset and wish I was still playing golf, but the last week and a half have been my best weeks at Trinity thus far.  I've had so much more time on my hands to do other fun things I've been wanting to do.  I have also noticed that I am getting my homework done earlier and getting to bed at a more reasonable time, and I'm not as stressed out as I was with golf.  So maybe it just wasn't meant to be.  I gave it my all, and thats all that matters.  But now, I'm much happier.
